Basketball Game Preview: Union Grove Christian Patriots vs. New Manna Christian Wind

The Union Grove Christian Patriots will take on the New Manna Christian Wind at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Union Grove Christian will be strutting in after a victory while New Manna Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Union Grove Christian didn't have too much trouble with Vandalia Christian as they won 42-25. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Union Grove Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madi Jeffreys out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Jeffreys a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Stiltner, who posted nine points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Union Grove Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, New Manna Christian entered their match against Rockwell Christian School on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. New Manna Christian fell 62-54 to Rockwell Christian School.

Union Grove Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for New Manna Christian, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-4.

Union Grove Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against New Manna Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 43-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Union Grove Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
