Fairfield won the last time they faced Foothill and things went their way on Thursday too. Fairfield blew past Foothill 16-4. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Desten Torrence, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Tristen Smith was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Fairfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Fairfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. Foothill is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Fairfield has already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Wood on the 21st. As for Foothill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 16-6 win against Esparto on the 22nd.
