Softball Recap: Bruton Takes a Loss

Bruton lost against Smithfield back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Panthers came up short against the Packers, falling 16-4. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eden Brown was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Bruton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Smithfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Bruton will take on rival Grafton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Smithfield is set to challenge their familiar foe Lafayette at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
