Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ben Shaw and Cooper Robinson Lead Waverly to Victory

Waverly had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 21-point drubbing they dealt Windsor Central on Friday. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 34-13 margin over the Black Knights. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Black Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Leading Waverly to victory were Cooper Robinson and Ben Shaw. Robinson gained 145 total yards and two touchdowns, while Shaw threw for 139 yards and three TDs on only ten passes. The dominant performance also gave Shaw a new career-high in rushing yards (49).

Waverly's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Windsor Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Waverly will square off against Norwich at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Windsor Central, they will challenge Chenango Forks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Black Knights their first taste of in-conference action this season.
