Softball Recap: Red River Triumphs

Red River got themselves on the board against Sacred Heart on Saturday, but Sacred Heart never followed suit. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 4-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Roughriders.

Jocelyn Berg was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Berg was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Speidel, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Abbigail Olson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Red River's win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Coming up, Red River will be playing in front of their home fans against Shanley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sacred Heart, they have already played their next game, a 16-14 loss against Grand Forks Central on the 11th.
