Colonial - South league recap: 4/3/13

Salisbury Township outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its four total wins led the league. The Falcons beat Saucon Valley 9-2, Palisades 10-3, Bethlehem Catholic 10-4 and Louis E. Dieruff 15-7.

This could be a critical week for Salisbury Township, which holds a 0.5-game lead over Notre Dame-Green Pond for Colonial - South's top spot in the standings.

The Falcons' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 21 hits and 13 walks, both of which led the league.

Salisbury Township's Nicolas Ampietro struck out eight the Panthers hitters en route to a 9-2 victory on April 2. Over his four innings pitched he allowed one run on one hit.

Mason Kresley was an RBI machine on Monday, as he knocked in four runs during the Falcons' 10-4 win over the Hawks. He went 1-for-3 and scored two runs.
