Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Sydney Miller and Charlee Yoder Lead Garaway to Victory

Garaway had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Tuslaw on Saturday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Pirates, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-14, 25-19.

Leading Garaway to victory were Charlee Yoder and Sydney Miller. Yoder had 24 assists and three aces, while Miller had seven digs. That's the most aces Yoder has posted since back in September of 2024.

They weren't the only good server: Garaway was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces every time they've taken the court this season.

The victory got Garaway back to even at 2-2. As for Tuslaw, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Garaway and Tuslaw will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Pirates are set to square off against their familiar foe Tuscarawas Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tuslaw will challenge rival Manchester at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
