Recap: Tri Titans vs. Wes-Del Warriors
The Tri Titans waltzed into their game Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They put the hurt on Wes-Del with a sharp 58-33 win. That 58-33 margin sets a new team best for Tri this season.
It was another big night for Josiah Cox, who scored 27 points along with seven assists. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Tri's points. Another player making a difference was Cole Melton , who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Wes-Del's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Love, who scored 14 points. Love scored a full 42.4% of Wes-Del's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Wes-Del struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Tri has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Wes-Del, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Tri will head out on the road to face off against Shenandoah at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wes-Del, they will look to defend their home court on January 6th against Tri-Central at 7:30 p.m.
