Basketball Recap: Highlands Has No Trouble Against Blue Ridge Early College

Highlands got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They took down the Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats 43-27 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Highlanders also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evan Pressley, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Dakota Kinsey, who put up eight points and five rebounds.

Highlands' victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Blue Ridge Early College, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Highlands will challenge Nantahala at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Nantahala's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Blue Ridge Early College, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-27 defeat against Hayesville on the 29th.
