Baseball Recap: Orangefield Extends Winning Streak to Three

Orangefield won against West Brook on Friday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Orangefield Bobcats beat the Edgewood Bulldogs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-1. Winning may never get old, but the Bobcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Carson Gonzales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carson Worthy, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Easton Sprayberry, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Orangefield's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Edgewood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Orangefield will challenge East Chambers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edgewood, they will head out on the road to take on Port Neches-Groves at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
