Softball Recap: Corinth Holders Takes a Loss

After flying high against Garner last Friday, Corinth Holders came back down to earth. The Corinth Holders Pirates came up short against the Cleveland Rams on Tuesday, falling 11-2. It was the first time this season that the Pirates let down their fans at home.

Ava Marks and Liana Giron did some serious damage despite the final result: Marks went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Giron went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Corinth Holders' loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Cleveland, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corinth Holders will square off against West Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Corinth Holders is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Cleveland, they will challenge Willow Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Willow Spring's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
