Baseball Recap: Kingfisher Beats Clinton for Their Fourth Straight Win

Kingfisher waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Clinton Red Tornadoes. This was a revenge game for the Yellowjackets: when they faced off against the Red Tornadoes back in March, they had to take a 12-4 defeat.

Trypp Lack made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. Lack was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kingfisher got a big performance out of Brett Calamateo, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Calamateo has become a key player for the Yellowjackets: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kaden Cline, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Kingfisher's record is now 6-15. As for Clinton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Kingfisher will have a chance to go back-to-back against Clinton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
