Baseball Recap: Robinson Takes a Loss

Robinson had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 8-16 to make it four. They lost 13-1 to the Riverview Sharks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Knights have suffered against the Sharks since April 18, 2017.

Robinson got a good showing from Santiago Rojas, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. That's the fewest earned runs Rojas has allowed since back in April of 2025.

At the plate, Robinson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Collin Rosenberg, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Riverview, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 12th (when they won 16-0).

On Riverview's side, Parker Burt and Jackson Hill dominated on the mound. Burt tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Hill pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Riverview is 3-1 when Burt allows one or fewer hits, but 6-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Bryan Barrios was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Robinson and Riverview are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Knights will challenge McKeel Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Riverview, they will face off against Durant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
