The Grantsville Cowboys will square off against the Juab Wasps at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Grantsville sitting on three straight wins and Juab on eight.
Grantsville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Delta by a score of 14-11. 14 seems to be a good number for the Cowboys as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Grantsville got a great performance from Mason Butler as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Butler a new career-high.
At the plate, Grantsville let Cooper Castagno and Krue Warren run wild. Castagno went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Warren got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Grantsville is undefeated when Castagno posts three or more RBI, but 9-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Patton Rose, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Grantsville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Juab beat American Leadership Academy 9-5 on Friday.
Corbin Buchanan looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Connor Cowan was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Marostica, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Juab's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Grantsville, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.
Grantsville beat Juab 5-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2021. Will the Cowboys repeat their success, or do the Wasps have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
