Softball Recap: La Jolla Comes Up Short

La Jolla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-5 to the Sweetwater Red Devils. The Vikings were not able to make up for their loss to the Red Devils from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Aviv Laska was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2024. Savannah Putnam was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

La Jolla's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Sweetwater, they pushed their record up to 3-0-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

La Jolla wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 25-5 loss against Bishop's on the 10th. As for Sweetwater, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 21-4 victory against Lincoln on the 17th.
