Softball Recap: Olmsted Falls Takes a Loss

Olmsted Falls lost against Avon Lake back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Shoremen by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since April 2nd.

MOLLY SHEEHAN was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

SHEEHAN wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was ASHLEY SCOTT, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Olmsted Falls' record is now 12-10. As for Avon Lake, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-12 record.

Looking ahead, Avon Lake will be taking part in a tournament against North Olmsted at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Olmsted Falls will be paying especially close attention to the Shoremen's matchup: after the Shoremen face off against the Eagles, they'll take on Olmsted Falls again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
