Baseball Recap: Northwestern Lehigh Beats Northern Lehigh for Their Third Straight Victory

While Northwestern Lehigh's win against Northern Lehigh wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bulldogs 12-10. The win was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Northwestern Lehigh let Brady Zimmerman and Cole Dynda run wild. Zimmerman got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Dynda went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Zimmerman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cannon Fitch, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Northwestern Lehigh's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Northern Lehigh, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwestern Lehigh will host Lehighton at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. As for Northern Lehigh, they will welcome Hamburg at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
