Recap: Hardin-Central Bulldogs vs. Braymer Bobcats
It was a good run, but the Hardin-Central Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 56-47 to Braymer. Hardin-Central has struggled against Braymer recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Braymer found their leader in underclassman Dakota Brandon, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds. Those 16 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Jordan Haley was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Hardin-Central's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-1. As for Braymer, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Hardin-Central will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Green Ridge at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Green Ridge is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Hardin-Central a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Braymer will finish 2023 at home by hosting Liberal at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
