Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Christ's Church Academy

Christ's Church Academy waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Riverside Generals. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ella Springer was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Rachel Samaniego was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Christ's Church Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in ten consecutive contests.

The victory got Christ's Church Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Riverside, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christ's Church Academy will welcome St. Joseph Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Riverside, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Sandalwood at 6:00 p.m.
