Oaks Christian faced Chaminade in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Lions came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles, sneaking past 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Oaks Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 23-25, 25-15, 25-18, 15-13.

Oaks Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Chaminade, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-2.

After both having extra time off, Oaks Christian and Newbury Park will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be the Lions' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Chaminade, they will challenge Village Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
