Basketball Game Preview: Mount Miguel Matadors vs. Helix Highlanders

Mount Miguel is 2-8 against Helix since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mount Miguel Matadors are taking a road trip to face off against the Helix Highlanders at 7:00 p.m.

Mount Miguel is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since January 10th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Steele Canyon by a score of 48-45. While the Matadors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 16-7 in the first quarter.

Helix hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They strolled past El Capitan with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 59-41.

Mount Miguel's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Helix, their victory bumped their record up to 8-16.

Mount Miguel came up short against Helix when the teams last played last Tuesday, falling 58-47. Can Mount Miguel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
