Edwards County entered their tilt with Fairfield on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mules, sneaking past 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since May 4, 2024.

Edwards County's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Allison Groff, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave Groff a new career-high. Braelyn Troyer was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Edwards County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Fairfield, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
