Softball Game Preview: Mars Fightin' Planets vs. Beaver Bobcats

The Mars Fightin' Planets will face off against the Beaver Bobcats at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.

Mars came up short against Mohawk Area on Friday, falling 12-2. The Fightin' Planets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Abby Robinson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Beaver put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Montour with a sharp 14-4 win.

The team relied heavily on Olivia Peabody, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Sami Springman was another key player, scoring four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Beaver always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montour only posted an OBP of .462.

Mars now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Beaver, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
