Elizabeth Shanley struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best she's had all season long. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her third in a row with one or fewer walks. This year, she has an ERA of 2.85 over 27 innings pitched.
