Baseball Game Preview: Everett Vikings vs. DeWitt Panthers

Everett is 0-4 against DeWitt since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Vikings will hit the road for the first time this season to take on the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Everett fell victim to Okemos and their airtight pitching crew last Monday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 21-0 to the Chiefs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Everett saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Fundunburks, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when DeWitt duked it out with Lansing Catholic on Tuesday. The Panthers lost 7-0 to the Cougars. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly seven runs.

Lucas Brandell made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Those hits were his first of the season.

Everett's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for DeWitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Everett suffered a grim 19-0 defeat to DeWitt in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
