Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Springville). Their defense stepped up to hand the Westbrook Christian Warriors an 8-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Tigers have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Springville and bumps their season record up to 5-1-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. As for Westbrook Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Coming up, Springville will face off against Jacksonville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westbrook Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Pell City on the 8th.
