Basketball Recap: Anamosa Takes a Loss

Anamosa has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against the Maquoketa Cardinals on Tuesday, falling 59-33. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Cardinals are ranked 17th).

Anamosa's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for Maquoketa, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.

Anamosa has already played their next match (against Monticello), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Maquoketa Cardinals face off against the Cascade Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
