Basketball Preview: Legacy Lightning vs. Poudre Impalas

The Legacy Lightning will be playing at home against the Poudre Impalas at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Legacy will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Even though Legacy has not done well against the SaberCats recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Legacy skirted past the SaberCats 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Legacy has posted since November 27, 2023.

Legacy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joey Delescinskis, who scored 20 points along with two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Delescinskis has scored at least a third of Legacy's points. Brandon Domsch was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Poudre didn't have too much trouble with the Mustangs at home on Saturday as they won 63-48.

Legacy is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Poudre, their win bumped their record up to 5-14.

Legacy strolled past the Impalas in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 72-54. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Poudre's Silas McCurnin, who scored 31 points along with seven rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Legacy to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
