Basketball Recap: Dora Piles Up the Points Against Tarrant

Dora had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They breezed by the Tarrant Wildcats to the tune of 73-38. With the Bulldogs ahead 50-18 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Dora's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bella Reese led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 14 boards. Reese has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ja'Laya Harris, who posted 14 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Dora smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Dora pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Tarrant, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Dora will look to defend their home court on Friday against Fultondale at 5:30 p.m. As for Tarrant, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Curry at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
