Volleyball Recap: East Lawrence Takes a Loss

East Lawrence was the 3-0 winner over Fairview when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Aggies by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

East Lawrence started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 15-5.

Lauren Garner paced East Lawrence's offense, picking up ten kills. Garner got some help from Cheyenne Hackett and her 11 assists. Garner was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

East Lawrence's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Fairview, they moved to 5-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

East Lawrence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Arab on the 2nd. As for Fairview, they will face off against Scottsboro at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
