Baseball Game Preview: Laguna Beach Breakers vs. Pacifica Christian Tritons

The Laguna Beach Breakers will head out on the road to square off against the Pacifica Christian Tritons at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Laguna Beach is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Laguna Beach's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against University as they made off with a 7-0 win. The Breakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Becker Sybirski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Parker Moore was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Laguna Beach was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .343 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Pacifica Christian came up short against Capistrano Valley Christian on Friday and fell 7-3. The Tritons haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Laguna Beach's record now sits at 23-3. As for Pacifica Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Laguna Beach has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Pacifica Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts.
