Baseball Recap: Pottsville Comes Up Short

Pottsville managed to slip by Mena the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Apaches lost 17-5 to the Bearcats on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Apaches have suffered since March 13th.

Ryder Middleton was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Jace Akin was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Pottsville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Mena, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pottsville will host Clarksville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mena, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Waldron at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bearcats are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
