It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Goshen ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wawasee Warriors 3-2. The RedHawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Goshen got a great performance from Bray Hoag as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Hoag a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Braxton Cline, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Miller, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Goshen and bumps their season record up to 5-6. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Wawasee and 4-7 Concord. As for Wawasee, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Goshen has already played their next matchup (against NorthWood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Wawasee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-0 loss against Concord on the 5th.
