Recap: Belleview Rattlers vs. Lake Weir Hurricanes
The Belleview Rattlers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 13th straight loss. They lost to Lake Weir at home by a decisive 62-48 margin. Belleview has struggled against Lake Weir recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Belleview still got an impressive performance from Demarcus Mcdaniel, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Wilson, who scored eight points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Weir to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amari Kiner, who scored 16 points. Angel Henderson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Belleview dropped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Lake Weir, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belleview won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ocala Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Ocala Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Tuesday. Lake Weir won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Trinity Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Trinity Catholic and Lake Weir are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
