Baseball Game Preview: Rockport Vikings vs. Amesbury Redhawks

Rockport hasn't had much luck against Amesbury recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Vikings will square off against the Redhawks at 10:00 a.m. Rockport will be strutting in after a win while Amesbury will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Rockport turned things around against Manchester Essex on Saturday. They came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 5-2.

Meanwhile, Amesbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-1 to Hamilton-Wenham Regional.

Amesbury's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Rockport, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4.

Rockport came up short against Amesbury when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 8-3. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
