Softball Recap: Maplesville Red Devils vs. Verbena Red Devils

Maplesville extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Verbena. Everything went their way against the Verbena Red Devils as they made off with an 8-1 win. Maplesville might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 16 matches by six runs or more this season.

Mollie Smith made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Smith has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Smith was also big at the plate, getting three hits from her three at bats.

In other batting news, Kamylia Talley was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Jaden McGee was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
