League recap: Arroyo climbs in state rankings with win

West Alameda County - Shoreline recap Oct. 3, 2012

Arroyo moved up to 482 from 550 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in West Alameda County - Shoreline. The Dons were able to make the jump by beating the Dons 21-7.

Tennyson took down Kennedy 34-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Quinzell Moore ran for 124 yards and caught one passes for 53 yards in the win.

The Lancers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Gilberto Magallanes threw for 171 and one touchdown and Dashaun Cosby had 60 yards receiving.

Tennyson's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lancers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Magallanes has thrown for 660 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Datron Smith has 15 catches for 294 yards. Joshua Handy leads the league in rushing with 407 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Tennyson takes on Alameda. As it stands, the Lancers are in first, while the Hornets are in fifth.

Tennyson led West Alameda County - Shoreline in scoring this week after putting up 34 points on the Titans. Moore in the win.
