Football Recap: Jimmy Lollar's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Olympia over New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly

Olympia extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-3. They took a hard 48-32 fall against the New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly Vipers. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Vipers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Olympia's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jimmy Lollar, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Lollar is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendon Hardimon, who rushed for 105 yards on only 11 carries.

As for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.3 points over those games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Pecoraro, who rushed for 175 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards and two scores. Pecoraro's longest rush was for an incredible 91 yards. Another player making a difference was Brady Crews, who threw for 108 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

Olympia didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 50-36 win against Maroa-Forsyth on the 10th. As for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 53-7 loss against Williamsville on the 10th.
