Softball Recap: JW North Finds Playoff Glory Versus Hart

With a playoff win on the line, JW North rose to the challenge on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Hart Hawks. Winning may never get old, but the Huskies sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Anela Kinnevey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lily Hiraoka, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1 stolen bases per game. Angelina Martinez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

JW North's victory bumped their record up to 18-10. As for Hart, their loss dropped their record down to 10-17.

Coming up, JW North will challenge Western Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Fighting Lancers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight. Hart does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
