Basketball Recap: Dove Creek Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Dove Creek won the last time they faced Ridgway, and Trevan Ivie did his part to make sure it happened again. The Dove Creek Bulldogs managed a 46-42 win over the Ridgway Demons on Saturday thanks in part to Ivie, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. Those 18 boards gave him a new career-high.

Ridgway's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Henry Deppen, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brodie Musgrove, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points.

Dove Creek's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-5. As for Ridgway, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-6.

Dove Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-56 win against Monticello on the 21st. Ridgway has also already played their next contest, a 58-57 loss against Olathe on the 21st.
