Soldotna extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, bumping them up to 5-0. They walked away with a 28-21 win over the West Valley Wolf Pack. The 28-point effort marked the Stars' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Chase Hall was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown.

As for West Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.7 points over those games.

Despite the loss, West Valley still got an impressive performance from Landon Wiedmaier, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 78 yards on only eight carries. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 74 yards. Conner Wright was another key player, throwing for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes.

Soldotna has already played their next contest, a 58-7 victory against Wasilla on the 19th. As for West Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 34-21 win against Chugiak on the 19th.
