Jules White commands the offense for Chargers win

Recap: Chariho Chargers vs. Prout Crusaders

The Chariho Chargers had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.2 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They strolled past Prout with points to spare, taking the game 46-28. Given Chariho's advantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Prout is ranked 35th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chariho's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jules White, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Babineau, who scored seven points along with six steals and five rebounds.

Chariho pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Prout, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Chariho will head out on the road to take on Shea at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Shea will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Prout, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Smithfield at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th.
