Knights take on Roosevelt in Division II Region 5 contest.

The Ohio high school football playoffs are underway. That means the Top 25 rankings provide a good starting point, but unless teams are in separate divisions things will ultimately be settled on the field.

No. 1 Archbishop Hoban (Akron) faces Roosevelt in the Division II Region 5 bracket after a bye week. The Knights are 5-0.

In the Division I bracket, state No. 2 St. Xavier (Cincinnati) gets a rematch with Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati) after the Bombers beat the Fighting Crusaders 43-14 on Sept. 25. Yet, this is where things are interesting ... the Bombers are the third seed in the D 1 Region 4 bracket behind second-seeded Princeton (Cincinnati) and the top seed Lakota West (West Chester) (the state No. 13).

Like we said, it gets settled on the playing field.

In the state rankings, however, two teams jump into the Top 25 this week as Wayne (Huber Heights) climbs 19 spots to No. 23 and Stow-Munroe Falls (Stow) vaults 49 places to No. 25.
