La Costa Canyon hadn't done well against Torrey Pines recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The La Costa Canyon Mavericks walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Torrey Pines Falcons. For the Mavericks, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Gracie Camacho made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Mia Reynoso was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Rylan Williams also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

La Costa Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

La Costa Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Torrey Pines, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

La Costa Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Christian on the 8th. Torrey Pines has also already played their next contest (against El Capitan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
