Softball Recap: North Brunswick Scorpions vs. Dixon Bulldogs
North Brunswick took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Dixon Bulldogs 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Scorpions have posted against the Bulldogs since March 24, 2017.

Shanley Hunt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up eight Ks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.
At the plate, Zoey Matthews was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrianna Gomez, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Brunswick is headed away from home for the first time to square off against West Bladen at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dixon, they will head out on the road to face off against Laney at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
