Basketball Recap: Smithfield Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wheeler, Smithfield was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 69-50 victory over the Cumberland Clippers. For the Sentinels, this counts as revenge for the 62-57 win the Clippers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Smithfield's victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13. As for Cumberland, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-14.

Smithfield will head out to square off against Mt. Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cumberland, they will take on North Kingstown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cumberland is facing North Kingstown at the right time seeing as North Kingstown is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
