Basketball Recap: Springstead Falls Despite Big Games from Addisson Osborne and Briana Coleman

Springstead and River Ridge squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Springstead had to settle for second. They lost to the River Ridge Royal Knights on the road by a 39-25 margin. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Springstead's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Briana Coleman, who posted two points in addition to five boards and three steals, and Addisson Osborne, who scored ten points and eight rebounds. Coleman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Ariana Willoughby also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Springstead and nudges their season record down to 20-7. As for River Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Springstead does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for River Ridge, they will challenge New Smyrna Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Smyrna Beach will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something River Ridge surely won't give up without a fight.
