Basketball Recap: Tarboro Comes Up Short

Tarboro lost against Perquimans back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tarboro Vikings were outmatched by the Perquimans Pirates and fell 55-13. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 484th, while the Pirates are ranked 67th).

Tarboro has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Perquimans, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Bertie the next time they take the court. Tarboro will host Bertie at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Perquimans will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
