While Granada's victory against Carondelet wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Matadors narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cougars 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Matadors in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

Granada got a great performance from Ella Vonbergen as she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Ingram, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

Granada's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Carondelet, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Granada will face off against Saint Francis at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Matadors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lancers have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Carondelet, they will welcome Dublin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Gaels at the right time seeing as the Gaels are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
