Basketball Recap: Belmont Starts Season with Victory Against Melrose

Belmont had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Melrose Red Raiders, posting a 70-21 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Marauders as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Belmont will be home for the holidays to greet Watertown at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Melrose, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Reading Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Melrose will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
